Congratulations to Christine & Brad

Christine and Brad are getting married this Saturday. This one will also be one San Antonio Wedding to remember. St. Joseph's Catholic Church with all the fanfare - then off to the Marion Koogle McNay Art Museum. All these weddings this spring are just fabulous. The white on white with silver accents and pinspot lighting will be the perfect in the Leeper Auditorium.

Here are two shots from Christine's bridal session this past week. This dress is awesome. It is the Paradise dress from the Reem Acra collection. These photographs are taken by my favorite photojournalist, Marcus Revilla. Thanks again to Marcus for having such a great eye. Christine's Mom was questioning every shot we took downtown. I knew it was genius in the making.

Traditional Wedding Anniversary Gifts - what to do

In case you all didn't know it, we also run Isabel's Paper Boutique. Most of our business is not local. We do a lot of custom work - it's my favorite part of the business. So we get a call yesterday, and I was touched by the guy on the other line. The traditional gift for the first anniversary is Paper. He wanted to get the vows he wrote calligraphed and framed. How sweet! I can't stand all this sugar.

Anyway - it got me to thinking...What are the traditional gifts for anniversaries. I can't say I have thought about it for many years - not even for my own. So, in honor of Reagan, who is giving a great gift for his wife, here it is:

Tips for dealing with Tuxedo Companies

Sometimes, just sometimes, they can be rude. Last October my sister got married here in San Antonio. It consumed my life and of course, I was late getting fitted for tuxedos. Well, we had 5 tuxedos to get fitted for. My husband and four boys. They wanted to charge me an extra $20 / tux. Times 5 that is $100!! I dropped my name, told them how often I refer them. How I always take care of their tuxes and return them promptly the next afternoon. Didn't work.

So, after all that, here is the tip:

I walked out and went to the next store (same company, another branch) and ordered the same tux outside of the group. I actually paid less than the others in the group. So if you find yourself in a bind, just wait an afternoon for another salesperson or go to the next store. Don't pay the extra fee - SO not necessary.

The best looking flowergirl and ringbearer EVER!

I dare you to finder cuter, more adorable children. Yep, you found me out, these are my kids, loaned out for an upcoming wedding, Isabel and Antonio. When we say we are a full service wedding design, coordinating and consulting firm, we weren't joking.

You become so close to brides when you work with them for so long. We are delighted and honored to have the kids as part of Christine's big day.

Congratulations to Ann and Aaron

They were married in April on the Wilson family property, Fabra Acres, just outside of Boerne. We love the work we are doing these days in and around the Boerne area. Again, we are blessed to be a part of such a wonderful couple's big day. Steven Pizzini has been a great addition to our team. His vision is always on the mark and I have yet to find a space he can't decorate. This was a huge task: oversight of tent installations, electrical, toilets, you name it we brought it and Steve handled it. Many thanks to Fresh Horizons catering, Scarlett, for their great food and professionalism and for the wonderful photographs taken by Sherry Hammonds. Thank you Sherry for capturing some of these design elements, we can't wait to see the rest.

Congratulations to Dana and Thomas

Dana and Thomas will be married tomorrow. Another great weekend with great wedding professionals. This will be one to remember. It is a small intimate event which has been in the works for over a year! Here at A Regal Affair, we really pride ourselves on the design aspect of our business. I can't wait to see Marcus' photographic interpretation of this ceremony.

Sneek Peek at the McNay Wedding

Here are some pictures from the McNay wedding on April 22nd. We had a great team of designers. We started with Adrienne's vision and enhanced all those elements she was searching for. These exquisite arrangements were by Botanika. I love King Protea.

Steven Pizzini does it again!

Our floral and event design part of A Regal Affair had another fabulous event this weekend. Marjo & Jeremey were married this past weekend at River Crossing Country Club. There were oil lamps hanging in the trees outside and gave such a romantic feel to the whole area.
